Day of the Dead

I have had many artisitic endeavors and you will find a myriad of my interests here.  I went full speed ahead and have worked on many projects such as watercolor, acrylic, and currently oil’s. I still enjoy plein air excursions and found a local group recently so you will see more of these.

I have a few in the Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead themed paintings.  One of my first paintings is this scene of a cemetery depicting those that visit and observe the ritual of remembering their loved ones during the Day of the Dead or called “Dia de los Muertos” normally observed around November 2nd All Souls day.  Its not a morbid tradition as I used to think but a day families gather to remember their loved ones who have passed away by doing something they loved, cooking and eating their favorite foods and placing their photos in prominant places to showcase who they were and what they meant to us.  It should be a happy time remembering.
