I wanted to enter the Mattie Rhodes “Beauty and the Beast” art show for the June, first Friday art event. I had to get busy painting. I entered on the last day to drop off work. I love painting in Frida Kahlo themes. It’s not what I normally paint if I had a “normal” painting style however I love painting with many colors, and bright colors. The artist Frida Kahlo was famous for her self portraits that pictured her pain and tortured due to an accident which left her in extreme pain and with disabilities that her art could express. On a lighter note, Frida was not all pain and sorrow, she loved animals and was said to possess many monkeys and birds. Much of her life was bed ridden so animals offered a small comfort to her pain.
